"Protocol and Institutional Relations"

The Research Group on the History of Legal and Political Thought at the National University of Distance Education (UNED) in Madrid, Spain, is convening the IV International Congress on Contemporary Protocol, coinciding with the XII UNED Conference on Protocol. Under the theme "Protocol and Institutional Relations," the congress will take place in the Auditorium of the UNED Faculty of Law on March 14, 15, and 16, 2018. Protocol and institutional relations go hand in hand in most public institutions. Almost all public bodies have a department that combines both functions. However, it is important to recognize that these are parallel fields that should be distinguished to avoid diverting attention from the true audiences to whom events are addressed when organizing them. Institutional relations in public bodies extend far beyond lobbying. Although both are considered specialized public relations, the lines of convergence must be analyzed in detail so that the results do not turn against the basic organizational purpose that transcends their operation.
