10th International Congress on Contemporary Protocol | CIEPC


The National University of Distance Education (UNED) will host the tenth edition of the International Congress "Contemporary Protocol" on September 21 and 22, 2026, at the Faculty of Psychology. Under the motto "Contemporary Protocol: Tradition, Communication and Institutional Legitimacy", the Congress is configured as an academic space for analysis and reflection on the role of protocol in contemporary societies.


From an interdisciplinary perspective, the protocol will be addressed as:

  • Expression of ceremonial and institutional tradition
  • Strategic communication tool
  • Tool for legitimizing public power


The Congress is aimed at researchers, teachers, professionals and postgraduate students interested in the study of protocol, ceremonial, public law, institutional communication and international relations.


Likewise, a call for scientific communications is opened in various thematic lines related to the evolution of the protocol, its legal dimension, its communicative function and its international projection.


Accepted communications will be published in the proceedings of the Congress and may be eligible for inclusion in specialized scientific publications.

3. Types of contributions

The following will be accepted:

  • Scientific communications
  • Proposals for thematic panels
  • Case studies with an academic focus

All contributions must be original, unpublished, and not under review in other publications.

4. Sending proposals

4.1. Abstracts

  • Length: between 300 and 500 words
  • Language: Spanish or English
  • Content:
  • Title of the communication

  • Keywords (3–5)

4.2. Author's details

  • Name and surname
  • Institutional affiliation

  • Brief curriculum vitae (max. 100 words)


5. Scientific Calendar

Call for applications opens: January 15, 2026

Abstract submission deadline: May 15, 2026

Notification of acceptance: June 15, 2026

Full text submission deadline: September 1, 2026

Congress Dates: September 21–22, 2026

6. Evaluation

The proposals will be evaluated through peer review (double-blind) by the Congress Scientific Committee, taking into account the following criteria:

  • Originality and relevance
  • Methodological rigor
  • Contribution to scientific knowledge
  • Alignment with the thematic lines
  • Clarity of presentation


7. Publications

Accepted communications may:

  • To be included in the Congress Proceedings (with ISBN), with a summary of the proposals
  • Book published by SEEII, open access and available in an institutional repository
  • Opt for publication in indexed scientific journals or specialized monographs (Revista Estudios Institucionales), subject to additional evaluation.
